On 4 July 2025, a vibrant vegetable garden has been established at the Salvation Army Church, thanks to the generous donation of cabbage and beetroot seedlings from Emseni Farming. Under the expert guidance of Mr. Mzi Ndlovu, community members learned how to properly prepare the soil and plant the seedlings. To protect the young plants from animals, fencing was purchased and installed around the garden.
Similarly, at the Mabizela homestead, the land was tilled and planted with cabbage and beetroot seedlings. This effort was also supported by Mr. Ndlovu, who provided hands-on assistance and valuable agricultural advice to ensure the success of the garden.
14 October 2025 marks a wonderful day at the Salvation Army Church as the garden begins to yield the fruits of dedication and hard work. What started as a humble initiative has grown into a thriving space of nourishment and hope. The community is now reaping the rewards — a true testament to perseverance and teamwork.
