On the 06/06/2025, the Union Bible Institute in Pietermaritzburg had a wonderful day, when Emseni Farming officially donated a seedling nursery to them. The former principal of the Bible college, Dr. Rev. Mnisi was thankful for this nursery. He had spent two days visiting the Kwasizabantu Mission with an aim of doing a seedling workshop. He said God answered their prayers as the college because it had been a long time since they wished to have nursery on their premises.

So, students can now learn how to plant and grow seedlings. He also thanked the founder of KwaSizabantu Mission, Rev. Erlo Stegen and Emseni Farming for the vision of teaching the community how to plant. The students, teachers and board of the directors are happy and thankful for this nursery.

Entrepreneurship Initiatives

With the vision from our founder and director, Reverend Erlo Stegen, we developed a community nursery for avocado trees which we sell to emerging farmers at a subsidised price.

We have passed on our acquired knowledge in avocado growing to the farmers, teaching them about soil health, planting and management of orchards so that they can successfully grow their own avocado trees for their families but also as an initiative to start their own avocado growing businesses.

We buy the seeds from these farmers as rootstock for our avocado orchards. When their trees bear fruit, these farmers will be able to sell the avocados to Emseni to pack and sell.
